On the afternoon of April 3rd, a tourist visiting the underground three-dimensional library at the Shenzhen Library North gave a thumb-up, praising the city’s innovation.
Opened to the public on December 28th, 2023, the Shenzhen Library North features a groundbreaking 21.55-meter-tall three-dimensional library, divided into five compartments. Each compartment holds over 70,000 storage boxes, with a total capacity of 4 million volumes, making it China's first and largest intelligent three-dimensional library. Equipped with a fully automated sorting system, the library locates requested books within seconds and delivers them via vertical rails to designated floors, enabling users to retrieve books in as little as 10 minutes, a feat hailed as "instant access". Beyond smart borrowing, the library integrates cultural experiences like music appreciation and film screenings.
Dubbed the "magic library" by netizens, this facility recently sparked global buzz on social media. On March 27th, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mao Ning shared a 16-second video on X (formerly Twitter), showcasing its 20-meter-high three-dimensional bookshelves and fully automated sorting system, captioned, "This 'magic library' in Shenzhen is mind-blowing! Is it a 'space elevator' or Hogwarts in disguise?"
The video garnered over 10,000 views within hours, with widespread international engagement. User Thabo Buthelezi commented, "China makes the world envious!" Henry marveled, "Unbelievable!" while Elisa's Journey wrote, "Shenzhen’s tech is just so cool!"

“高科技在深圳！非常震撼！书籍是人类进步的阶梯，深圳走在了中国高科技发展的前沿！”4月3日下午，游客参观深圳图书馆北馆地下立体书库后竖起大拇指，由衷为深圳点赞。
深圳图书馆北馆于2023年12月28日正式对公众开放，馆内立体书库高度达21.55米，分为5个库，每个库可容纳7万多个箱子，总计可存放400万册书籍，是国内首创、全国规模最大的智能立体书库。该书库配备全自动智能分拣系统，读者提交借阅请求后，系统迅速定位书籍，并通过垂直轨道将书送至指定楼层，最快10分钟即可取书，实现“立等可取”的高效借阅体验。深圳图书馆北馆不仅在借阅方式上实现了智能化，还融合了音乐欣赏、电影放映等文化体验。
这座被网友称为“魔法图书馆”的智能书库，近期在海外社交平台引发热议。3月27日，外交部发言人毛宁在X（原推特）发布了一段16秒短视频，展示了高达20米的立体书架及全自动分拣系统，并配文：“深圳的‘魔法图书馆’太震撼了！它到底是‘太空电梯’，还是霍格沃茨魔法学校呢？”
